Amazon has added more than 100 new shopping abilities to Alexa ahead of the holidays. You can now ask the assistant to manage lists and subscriptions, and to change delivery instructions, without opening the Amazon app.
What changed
Alexa can create lists, show what is on them, and add or edit items. It can also change a subscription. One example Amazon gave is moving an item from monthly deliveries to every three months.
Delivery instructions are covered too. You can change an address or add drop-off details. Alexa can also answer questions about Prime and Audible subscriptions, and about billing or payment problems.
Why it matters
Amazon says over 400 million people have used Alexa for shopping in the past 12 months. It also says use of its agentic features, meaning AI that takes actions for you, has grown 8x since the start of the year.
Voice changes are fast, but they touch real orders and real money. A wrong address or a wrong delivery schedule is easy to miss.
What is not known
The material does not say which Alexa devices get the update, when it reaches everyone, or whether it costs extra. Check the Alexa app or your Amazon account after any change, and confirm the new address or schedule is what you meant.
The takeawayAlexa can now change subscriptions and delivery details by voice, so double-check each change in your Amazon account.
