AcuityTec, a company that sells fraud prevention software, has released Version 10.1 of its platform. The headline feature is called Parent Account. It lets a business share its lists of blocked, high-risk and approved customers across all of its merchant accounts. The goal is simple: a known bad actor should not get a clean start on every account.
What changed
A merchant account is a business's setup for taking payments. Some businesses run several, for example one per brand. With Parent Account, the blocked, high-risk and approved data can be shared across them. Each account still keeps its own screening rules, settings and billing.
The release also adds more transaction detail to AcuityTec's Rules Engine. That is the tool where a business sets its own screening rules. The company says this lets operators fine-tune risk scoring, apply more targeted rules and automate decisions based on how much risk they are willing to accept.
What is not clear yet
AcuityTec says the release has five enhancements, but its announcement describes only two. Pricing and technical details were not shared. The company names iGaming operators, payment providers and fintechs as its audience, so most people will never use it directly. The update is available now to AcuityTec clients and partners worldwide.
The takeawayIf you run several brands or payment accounts, ask your fraud vendor whether blocked-customer lists can be shared across them.
